For our summer vacation this year, I tried to find something interesting that wasn't too far away. I found Glenwood Springs, CO. It was pretty nice with a small amusement park built around some caves. Very pretty, and only a 5 hour drive. There was more to see, like Doc Holiday's grave, Hanging Lake and river rafting, we didn't make those this time. We did swim in the biggest, outdoor natural hotspring that cost a mint to get in and the kids didn't like.
Ashton and Zach relaxing on the hotel bed. That is a big jacuzzi tub in the background.
The slide at the hotel. The boys spent their time doing stuff on it no lifeguard would ever let them do at a normal pool.
Ashton wanted to drive us home.

Fairy Caves. This stalagmite is called the Flaming Cheeto
Mitchell LOVED the caves
In the Cave
I rode the swing of death. Parker said Heavenly Father could cut the rope at anytime.

Riding up the Alpine Coaster looking back down at Parker (at least I think that is Parker)

Zach could not believe Parker.
Zach thinks it is okay to be rude in "Britishese." This is standing outside the back of the cave overlooking the valley.

Parker and Zach making their way up the tallest mountain in Colorado.
On the tram to Glenwood Caverns
Mark was so scared to ride the tram up the mountain he put on this face trying to fool us, but we knew, we knew.

Mitchell panning for precious gems in the sluice box.
Overlooking the town
Mitchell is a champion bull rider. He's been offered a contract to ride this beast out to the rodeo.
Parker did not fair as well and was humiliated by the bull.

Dad was so proud of being the #1 Dad of the day that he would not take off this headband/ribbon.
Mitchell earning up a storm
This poor homeless child let us take his picture while we were at the Oquirrh Mountain Temple Open House. His parents should be embarrassed letting him wander around looking like that.
Wheelbarrow race at the ward picnic.

We found out this year that Mitchell has bad eye allergies. Here it is at it's worst. The picture just does not do the grossness justice.
Ashton is a bit arrogant about his sitting up abilities.
Jodi happy to be on vacation.
Amy trying to poison Ashton with her devil food.
